APPRAISING THE HAZARDS OF NEWS GATHERING AND POSSIBLE REMEDY

ABSTRACT:

This work is on appraising the hazards of news gathering and possible remedy. A hundred and twenty questionnaires were shared amongst journalists and media agents from selected media companies. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.

Primary and secondary data were used the analysis. Both frequency distribution and regression analysis were used.

It was observed therefore that the hazards of news gathering have a significant negative impact on mass communication. Also, there was a is a negative relationship between these hazards and the effectiveness of performance of journalists.
